Miker? Giving up already?! That comms room jargon still has no real merit. My point was.. well, all of the points I put there; and you say I can't read between the lines? It seems you can't read the lines! My main point was that I have both PC and Mac formats, so I have experienced both systems. In my opinion the Mac excells. You say you earn ?30ph, well you could no doubt afford a Mac G4. So why fight it? Give into the Apple and just get one! You know yo want it.... wink

Miker read between the lines 'I LOVE YOU' is a reference to something else that throws a very large bucket of cold water over your arguement about comms room keeping the wheels of industry turning. Maybe you were flattered or maybe wishful thinking made you think that I loved you!!!!
If everyone was on the Mac platform they'd loose their maverick image and put alot of IT boys out of work at the same time (we don't want that to happen do we)

I am what I am. I am a PC user. An out-of-the-box G4 will not save my soul, much less edit 4:2:2P@ML MPEG-2 format providing broadcast quality ITU-R BT 601 standard video which my lovingly hand-built PC will. No doubt my system cost less than a G4 too.

Although I could be wrong, I will not try to stamp my opinion all over others simply because what I believe is true.

Computers are not a religion they are tools.

Now go edit your films people!!!!

Ive got a super8 editor that works really well, and only cost me 25 quid ;-)

It doesnt run Word or Doom though ;-(

You can all get lost with your puny PCs and mediocre Macs which are tools for amateurs. I am using my own SGI O2 graphic workstation with 1 gig RAM and a 17,3" TFT flat panel screen to edit my movie using the same tools the big studios use (in the vain hope that they will be able to gloss over the shitty script, demented directing, lousy lighting, atrocious actors and silly score). Therefore I am the l33test of you all, muahahahahaha!

by the way a little birdie told me it takes 36hours to burn 1 hours worth of footage onto DVD using a PC. Is this true?
